زمن الماضي البسيط  The Past Simple Tense

أولاً: صياغته:

يصاغ هذا الزمن بإضافة ed في نهاية مصدر الفعل مثل:

work → worked

visit → visited

pass → passed

ملاحظات هامة:

1- الفعل المنتهي ب e يأخذ d فقط مثل:

live → lived

die → died

promise → promised

2- الفعل المنتهي ب y مسبوقة بحرف ساكن تقلب إلى i ثم نضيف ed مثل:

carry → carried

study → studied

marry → married

3- هناك أفعال شاذة مثل:

eat → ate

sell → sold

cut → cut

ثانياً: استخداماته:

1- يستخدم مع حدث انتهى تماماً في الماضي مثل:

She visited us a week ago.

He repaid the debt yesterday.

2- يستخدم مع عادة في الماضي مثل:

He studied hard when he was a pupil.

When I was in England, I always carried an umbrella.

ملحوظة:

للعادة في الماضي قد نستخدم أيضاً تعبير (المصدر (used to + مثل:

He used to eat outside everyday but now he can not afford it.

ملحوظة:

غالباً ما نستخدم زمن الماضي البسيط مع الكلمات التالية:

Yesterday, once, ago, in the past, in ancient times, just now, once upon a time, last week, last month, last year…..

3- يستخدم هذا الزمن في الجمل الشرطية من النوع الثاني مثل:

If he came, he would meet her.

Unless she invited me, I would not come.

4- يستخدم مع الماضي الافتراضي للتعبير عن التمني أو الافتراضي في الحاضر مثل:

I wish he came now.

It is long time we left.

5- يمكن استخدام الماضي البسيط مع عدم وجود كلمة دالة على الماضي وذلك في الحالات التالية:

أ- عند السؤال عن الوقت مثل:

When did he return?

What time was it when you met her?

ب- عندما يكون الوقت واضح من الجملة مثل:

I bought this car in Cairo.

How did you get your job?

ثالثاً: تمارين:

تمرين رقم 1:

صحح الفعل بين القوسين:

1- He (ring) me up an hour ago.

2- When she (buy) her car?

3- He (receive) a letter last night. It (be) from his wife.

4- What time it (be) when he returned?

تمرين رقم 2:

اختر الإجابة الصحيحة وضعها في مكانها المناسب:

1- He …………….. out an hour ago. (goes, went, has gone)

2- When I was young, I ……….. go to the cinema. (have, was having, used to)

3- She would arrive in time if she ……………. the bus. (catch, catches, caught)

رابعاً: حلول التمارين:

حل تمرين رقم 1:

1- He rang me up an hour ago.

2- When she bought her car?

3- He received a letter last night. It was from his wife.

4- What time it was when he returned?

حل تمرين رقم 2:

1- He went out an hour ago.

2- When I was young, I used to go to the cinema a bike.

3- She would arrive in time if she caught the bus.
